Description

BOMBARDIER GLOBAL 6500

  • Passengers 13
  •
  •

The Bombardier Global 6500’s luxurious cabin, top speed of Mach 0.90 and ultra-long range redefine business jet comfort and performance.

About this aircraft

  • The Bombardier Global 6500 was first delivered in 2019.
  • It can seat 17 passengers if both lavatories and the crew area are used as seats, but typically seats 13 (or 14 with two three-seat divans at the cabin’s rear).
  • Boasting one of the longest ranges in its class, the Global 6500 can fly non-stop between cities like Hong Kong and London or Toluca and Madrid.
  • The Global 6500’s baggage hold accommodates about 15 suitcases.
  • The aircraft has a typical cruise speed of 652 mph. For context, a typical commercial airliner cruises at 547-575 mph.

Equipped with two purpose-built Rolls Royce Pearl engines and redesigned wings, the Global 6500 offers the perfect combination of range, speed, field performance and smooth ride.

Interior design

Like the Global 5500, the 6500’s cabin is one of the widest in its class and is split into three zones: a club suite for work or relaxation; conference suite for meetings and dining; and private suite with an adjoining bathroom and wardrobe in the quietest area of the aircraft. At the front of the cabin is a galley large enough to prepare hot and cold refreshments, along with a separate enclosed lavatory and seat for crew.

Passenger comfort is enhanced by Bombardier’s signature ergonomic Nuage seats and sophisticated air purification system, which features an advanced HEPA filter that’s far more efficient at cleaning the air than fresh air-only systems. The Global 6500 is also one of the first business jets with a stand-up shower in the ensuite.

Below are examples of configurations found onboard a Global 6500.

Interesting facts to learn before you fly

  • Bombardier’s Ka-band technology gives passengers home-like internet speeds that enable simultaneous high-definition streaming.
  • The baggage area can be accessed during a flight.
  • Some models feature a Nuage chaise in the conference suite.
  • The Global 6500 is one of the only business jets with an onboard shower.

Technological features

The Global 6500’s twin Rolls-Royce Pearl 15 engines are purpose-built for its airframe, each delivering 15,125 lbs of thrust and flat-rated to 15°C above standard.

Pilots operate the aircraft using Bombardier’s Vision flight deck, which features four large LCD displays in a user-friendly T configuration. Bombardier says it’s the first cockpit with a true combined vision system, merging enhanced and synthetic vision images in a single view on the head-up display to reduce crew workload and boost situational awareness.

History

Like the Global Express and Global 6000, the Global 6500 is based on the BD-700-1A10 model. Upgrades on the 6000 include more powerful engines and aerodynamic wings.

The aircraft made its inaugural flight in January 2018. The first model was delivered in 2019 to HK Bellawings Jet Limited, an aircraft management company in Hong Kong.
